Cosmetic Dental Bonding in Manchester City Centre
We’re Manchester’s best dentist, composite bonding is one of our core techniques. Read on to find out more.
What is bonding?
Bonding is the skilful use of modern “composite” materials to perfectly blend with teeth to change their shape, making them longer or wider.
We can also change the colour of teeth, treat decay, fix broken teeth and improve the bite.
Sometimes bonding is used to test out the cosmetics and the bite before it is replaced with veneers , crowns or onlays.
Advantages of the technique are;
- doesn’t require tooth reduction
- can be done in one visit
- easy to repair and maintain
How long does it last?
This will depend on many factors such as how well maintained it is, if you grind your teeth and dietary factors.
5 to 8 years is often quoted. However, bonding can last much longer for example, Jayme closed a gap between a receptionist front teeth 17 years ago and it is still looking great!
What Can Bonding Be Used For?
Teeth that have broken due to trauma can be rebuilt and made to blend perfectly so that no one would ever know!

Bonding or composite veneers can be used as a cost effective alternative to porcelain veneers. They can also be used in cases such as below, where there isn’t room for a normal size tooth. However, with little artistry, a great result can still be obtained.
