Orthodontics essentially means moving teeth into a better position and is ideal if you have crowded or excessive gaps in between teeth. Contrary to what you might think teeth can be moved at any age.

Forget about Ugly Betty train tracks. At 360 Dental Care we offer modern treatments to move the teeth - resulting in quicker and more comfortable treatment times.

Cosmetic orthodontics is solely concerned with the appearance of your front teeth. On the plus side it is relatively fast but might not be suitable for everyone.

Comprehensive orthodontics is all about giving you a smile and a bite that is as close to 'ideal' as possible. Although it normally takes a little longer, the cosmetic results may be superior to those of cosmetic orthodontics. It allows us to improve the function of your jaw and bite. In some cases the final result will also be more stable.

There are a large number of removable options but remember that they only work if they are worn for an appropriate length of time.

Lingual Braces

These braces have lately become the dental treatment favourite of the rich and famous including Kate Middleton, Cheryl Cole and Mylene Class.

By attaching metal brackets to the inside/back of your teeth they are practically invisible to others.

At 360 Dental Care we offer the Stb Social 6 and the Stb Light lingual system depending on whether we need to treat just your front six teeth or all of them.

With fixed braces such as these, we have greater control and can achieve more dramatic results much faster than with removable braces such as Invisalign.

Are they uncomfortable? We can't say no and some patients have told us that having them fitting is a little uncomfortable. If you have a sweet tooth you also need to make sure to clean your teeth thoroughly to avoid any staining of your teeth and gum problems during the treatment.

Ceramic Braces

Inspire ICE™ brackets are crystal clear and virtually disappear regardless of the colour of your teeth. It is the only completely transparent bracket on the market and offers patients an aesthetically pleasing solution.

Inman Aligner

One of the most common types of removable braces is the Inman Aligner. This system uses springs to push the front 4 teeth into position. In certain cases it is very effective and takes just a matter of weeks. 

Clear Aligners

Invisalign, Clearstep , simpli5 are a series of clear plastic braces that are changed approximately every 2 to 3 weeks. They are very discrete, virtually invisible and can treat mild to moderate cases.

A series of clear aligners moves the teeth to the desired position, without the need for brackets and wires of conventional orthodontics.

Damon Clear

Where traditional style of braces use either elastics or clips to hold the wires in place, the Damon Clear system combines tieless brackets and high technology wires. This incredibly strong system is able to straighten teeth that are badly out of position; clinically proven to produce amazing results quickly and comfortably. 

Remember...

Although modern treatment options have significantly reduced the pain traditionally related to having braces, you may experience some discomfort after having your braces fitted.

To protect your teeth it is important that you brush your teeth thoroughly after every meal, avoid sticky snacks which can get stuck, visit your dentist regularly and use mouthwash on a regular basis.
