Porcelain veneers transformation at 360 Dental Care Manchester

What is a veneer?

Veneers are thin facings that are bonded onto the front surface of your teeth, a little like a false fingernail. They can dramatically change the shape, colour, and alignment of your smile.

There are two main types: porcelain veneers (made in a laboratory from ceramic) and composite veneers (sculpted directly onto your teeth from composite resin, the same material used in bonding).

Choosing between them depends on your goals, budget, and how much of your natural tooth structure you want to preserve. At 360 we work with world-class lab technicians for porcelain work and are experts in composite techniques.

Our recommendation: At 360 we tend to favour composite bonding for most patients because it preserves your natural teeth and delivers beautiful, natural results. We'll always recommend the most conservative option that achieves your goals. Learn more about our bonding approach →

When to choose porcelain

Porcelain veneers are the right choice when you need significant colour or shape changes, maximum longevity, or when teeth are heavily discoloured or damaged beyond what composite can achieve.

  • Severe discolouration that whitening can't fix
  • Major shape changes needed
  • Want the longest-lasting result possible
  • Highly stain-resistant for tea/coffee/wine drinkers
  • Willing to invest more for premium aesthetics

When to choose composite

Composite veneers (bonding) are ideal when you want to preserve as much natural tooth as possible, need a more affordable option, or want a reversible treatment.

  • Minor to moderate improvements
  • Want to keep your options open (reversible)
  • Prefer a single-visit treatment
  • Looking for a more affordable entry point
  • Younger patients whose teeth are still settling
Dr Jayme Adams, lead veneer dentist at 360 Dental Care Manchester

20 years of veneer expertise

Jayme has been performing smile makeovers using veneers for over 20 years, and believes you don't have to sacrifice your long term dental health for a beautiful smile.

"Veneers are a fantastic way to get an amazing smile. Every smile should be individually designed to suit the face and bite. It's also important your teeth are not cut down heavily as this damages your teeth and your veneers will not last long. When carried out with great care, skill and creativity, porcelain veneers are a long-lasting solution for the perfect smile."

Dr Jayme Adams, Lead Dentist & Founder

Our philosophy: no-prep or minimal-prep veneers only. If your situation isn't suitable for these, we'll recommend a less invasive solution.

What your veneer journey looks like

A full porcelain veneer journey covers around 5 appointments over a few weeks: records, whitening tray fit, the veneer work itself (2 to 3 visits), and your retainer fit. Composite veneers can often be completed in a single visit.

  1. Step One

    Records & Assessment

Free smile assessment, photos, scans, and (if helpful) a trial smile so you can preview the result before committing.

  2. Step Two

    Whitening Tray Fit

Most patients whiten their natural teeth first so the veneer shade matches your healthiest possible baseline.

  3. Step Three

    Veneer Preparation

Minimal preparation of the tooth surface where needed, plus digital scans sent to our world-class technicians.

  4. Step Four

    Veneer Fit

Your veneers are bonded into place and refined for a natural fit, bite, and finish.

  5. Step Five

    Retainer & Aftercare

A night-time retainer / bite guard is provided to protect your investment, plus a top-up whitening tray.

What veneer patients say

"A dedicated and friendly team.

I struggled to find a dentist who could cope with the complexities of my teeth! I had old bridgework that was failing, two baby teeth that appeared to have almost no roots left: the rest of my teeth looked unsightly, discoloured and wonky. I’m the wrong side of 50 and knew I had to do something - it was ‘now or never!’

I was immediately put at ease by Jayme, who has an easy, friendly manner. He carried out an examination and scan, then sent me a video which showed a 3-d representation of my mouth. In the video, he talked me through what was needed, and provided me with an itemised treatment plan, so I could see exactly what he planned to do, and how much it would cost. Despite the amount of work, it actually cost less than I’d feared.

I needed new bridgework, crown lengthening, implants, veneers and bonding. Quite a list! The work was carried out over nine months and I’m absolutely delighted with the results. My new teeth look natural and strong and I can smile freely without automatically putting my hand over my mouth. I just wish I’d had it done sooner.

No one likes going to the dentist, but I can thoroughly recommend 360 Dental Care. They’re welcoming, professional and extremely skilled. The best dentist I’ve ever been to."

"From start to finish have been amazing and super attentive, I expressed concerned of negligence of other practises in the area and didn’t once experience that here. Had some composite veneers and bonding done and it’s completely transformed how I look massively boosting my confidence and eradicating insecurity.

Thank you so much 🙏🏼 …"

"So, short summary: 360 dental is THE best dentist practice I have ever had the privilege of being a patient at.

Longer summary: I came across 360 when searching for composite bonding “veneers” in Manchester. I am not overly enamored by the “fake piano” key smile look, and I didn’t want my teeth grinding down to stubs to accommodate full veneers. I was also “on the fence” about choosing the right dentist to carry out this treatment.

As a Dr of Biochemistry, I also really value a dentist who uses biocompatible materials, i.e. materials that do not cause potential issues with well-being.

The before and after pictures on the 360 dental care website were EXACTLY what I wanted. I also knew I needed to have some filings corrected.

So, I called up to enquire, they booked me in super quick, and I had the honor of meeting Jayme!

His analysis of my teeth, composite bonding, and filing corrections I needed were accurate, thorough, and extremely well priced. Hayley also went to the trouble of supplying me with the ingredient list they use for their materials! Jayme guided me through the process, and I also opted to have my teeth whitened, which would transform my smile into a smile I’ve wanted for a very long time!

The filings I needed correcting were done to an excellent standard. My smile beamed from the whitening treatment, and my composite bonding “veneers” look incredible! “Over the moon” is an understatement.

What I also love about 360 dental is the personable service; Marie, Haley, Samira (sorry if I have missed anyone), and all the rest of the team ensure they keep you updated on all your appointments. They even go to the lengths of calling you up 1 week after treatment to check how you are, and are ever so accommodating with requests.

Jayme himself is an absolute perfectionist and is evidently highly experienced and trained in his profession; a wonderful human being who truly cares about helping people feel confident and delighted about their smiles.

I would HIGHLY recommend 360 dental, and if you are on the fence about transforming your smile into a smile you have always wanted, then all you need to do is pick up the phone and give them a call.

Thank you, Jayme, and all the team at 360 dental care!

With much appreciation to you all,

Samantha G."

"I really could not be happier with the service provided by Jayme and the whole team at 360 Dental care! I have recently had composite veneers done after years of being self conscious of white/yellow markings on my teeth and what a difference this has made! My confidence when smiling and speaking to people has grown massively and I can not thank them enough. From start to finish the team have being nothing but professional and accommodating. I was initially worried about the cost of the treatment but Jayme took this into account and prepared two quotes for me to choose between and I can gladly say it was worth every penny, I only wish I had visited them sooner.

Thank you again!! 😊"

"360 Dental was recommended to me by my sister, she had some composite bonding done with Jayme and was really happy. I needed work doing to my top teeth - having old veneers replaced and I really wanted my overall smile made better. After having a video consultation first, I booked an appointment and from the minute I walked in I was made to feel so comfortable, Jayme was fantastic, he gave lots of advice and guidance about what would work best, I had whitening first and then the work done over two long sessions, you get to wear a video headset to watch a film while the work is done which is a lifesaver!

I am absolutely over the moon with the results, thank you Jayme!, from start to finish the service and aftercare was fabulous."

Veneer FAQs

Veneers can address discolouration, chips, gaps, uneven teeth, and minor misalignment. Send us a photo for a free assessment, we'll let you know whether veneers, bonding, or another option would best suit your goals.

If your teeth are small and set back it may be possible to carry out no preparation veneers. Often it is better to polish any pointy or sharp edges as they will reduce the lifespan of veneers.

A small amount of preparation of the tooth is often needed so the veneer sits flush with your tooth and doesn't trap plaque or have overhanging bulky margins.

If you'd like whiter teeth and your teeth are in the correct position, there are two options. No preparation, which will lead to bigger, possibly bulky-looking teeth. The second option is to remove a thin layer of the tooth enamel to make room for the porcelain to mask the colour.

At 360 Dental Care we only provide no preparation or minimal preparation veneers. If your situation is not suitable for these we will recommend another solution that is less invasive.

No. Our strap line is "natural beautiful smile". We work with world-class technicians to provide natural-looking smiles. Should anyone want the obviously-fake look, we recommend they go elsewhere.

When sticking to our philosophy of no or minimal preparation there should be very little to no discomfort. We often numb the area so you're completely comfortable throughout the procedure, more for the gums while we work than for the teeth themselves.

Composite veneers are made by the dentist directly on your teeth by layering composite materials to mimic natural teeth.

  • Single visit
  • No tooth reduction required (usually)
  • More economical

Porcelain veneers are made by a dental technician. The dentist sends the technician a scan or mould of your teeth, on which the technician creates a porcelain veneer (a little like a false fingernail) which is then cemented onto your tooth.

  • Last longer
  • Can look more refined
  • Minimum of two visits
  • May require some tooth reduction

A full porcelain veneer journey usually involves around 5 appointments: records and assessment, whitening tray fit, veneer preparation and scans (1 visit), fit of the veneers (1 to 2 visits), and delivery of your retainer or night bite guard. The veneer work itself is 2 to 3 of those visits. Composite veneers are often completed in a single visit.

Every case is different. Your free smile assessment will let you know what the best options are for you.

We do the minimum number of teeth needed to get the result you're looking for. That can range from fixing one broken tooth to 10 full veneers to widen a smile.

Possibly. Your gums need to be healthy: swollen gums that bleed can lead to pink-tinged margins and poor cosmetic results. Any decay or infections are treated first. If your teeth are crooked we may recommend Invisalign before veneers; if you want whiter teeth we usually recommend whitening before placing the veneers.

This can vary, a little like asking how long a car lasts. It depends on how it's driven and over what kind of roads.

If you show your gums when you smile and your gums shrink back over time, the margin where the tooth meets the veneer may become visible. Often this isn't an issue; for some people, they may prefer to change the veneer. We always try to make sure gum health is stable before treatment to reduce this risk.

If you grind your teeth it's possible to chip veneers. They can usually be repaired, but may need to be replaced. We take great care with the bite and provide bite guards to help reduce this risk.

Because veneers don't stain, porcelain veneers can last 10 to 30 years. Composite veneers typically last 5 to 10+ years.

If you grind your teeth, a bite guard at night significantly extends their lifespan.

  • Clean them as you would natural teeth.
  • Wear a bite guard at night if you grind your teeth.
  • Don't use your teeth to open bottle tops or similar.
  • Smile regularly for the best experience.

We're based on Southern Street in central Manchester (M3 4NJ), three minutes from Deansgate-Castlefield tram stop and Deansgate rail station. Patients travel in for veneers from across Manchester, Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Altrincham, and the wider Cheshire commuter belt.
